Yeah; I like nose warmers; specifically chunky ones.

Just a curious thought - do you think that Nosewarmer's have a higher appeal to former cigarette smokers due to the short length?

"I'm not sure how you can say that longer stems make a difference."
Because they do, anyone could easily experience it for themselves with the right pair of pipes.

The situation is more complicated than just one factor so you're probably just looking at one set of factors and ignoring the others, thus the incongruity in your own mind.
"You cite to a study of a chamber in a pipe. A chamber does not a longer stem make."
Longer stems do make larger chambers than shorter stems unless you're specifically making a stem with a long airway that's exactly the same volume as a shorter one, but that's exactly the case where you'll see the most temperature difference in the shorter stem given that the rate of airflow would be vastly increased, plus it's a shorter stem, so the airflow both contains a much higher volume of air and it has less time for energy to dissipate.
Crash, why don't you try getting a Missouri Meerschaum hardwood pipe and a Churchwarden and compare the two.

Cosmic may as well join in since he seems to be in denial as much as anyone.
