My nominee would be Johs, by the Danish pipe carver Mogen Johansen, good Danish craftsmanship done in enough volume to constitute a brand, and sold widely at SP, Al Pascia, Iwan Ries, etc. I have mentioned Johs pipes over the years, and from the lack of response, I'd guess few if any Forums members own these. What's your under-appreciated pipe brand nominee. (Please don't nominate major sellers like Peterson and Stanwell.)

chasing', thank you for the video of Mogen at work. He seems to have all his fingers and no conspicuous scars, and he is described as working at a frenetic pace. He also does good blast finishes with smooth stained briar bands. I've enjoyed his pipes for over ten years.

French pipes in general are beyond their price points in quality. I have two BC, Chocam, Genod, Ropp, EWA, and Vuillard. If you're building a rotation on a budget, French pipes are a good buy, and are under-appreciated.
