Caps hanging in there at 1-1 at the end of P2. (we had a 2nd goal, disallowed, offside). Well, the Canes just rang one off the post with one second to go in the period.

I'm in the DC area tonight,. I was looking at tickets yesterday, nosebleeds were $95. I thought they might go down today, but nope they went up, and at game start, many were unsold (Ticketmaster). To get to the game, I would have had to take the subway from outside the city (staying near BWI Airport/Baltimore). 45 minute subway right there and back and then 30 minutes in the car to my hotel. I have a 6 AM flight, so I said pass.

And we're toast. Actually made it a game, until a minute to go.
On the Canes go-ahead goal, every player on both teams is at the Caps net, except Ovie, who is just gliding into his own zone. So it's like 5-4 at that point. Might be time to think about retiring. Canes missing Chatfield this evening, that gave us a shot. Well, now I can watch pressure free playoff hockey.

I was definitely surprised by how the Knights vs. Oilers series, and Capitals vs. Canes series turned out the way they did. I did not think those would be over in 5 games. The Knights and Caps just kind of rolled over and died. The other two are about what I expected. The Panther's vs Leaf's game 7 should be a great game.

I actually had Canes in 5 but I’m a Canes fan and I had faith we’d frustrate the Caps. Also if the past is any indicator, the last place you want your team at the end of the season is at the tippy top, always leads to an early demise.

Now Vegas I thought surely would whoop the Oilers so I’m very surprised by that result. Just wish I had more faith in the Canes for the next round, hoping Freddie can continue to keep our cracks sealed as he’s been brilliant so far.

Another Canadian team bites the dust! Three down, two to go! Hopefully one more joins them tomorrow, and let's hope Dallas doesn't suddenly forget how to play hockey like the Kings and the Knights did.

By the way, I would think any of Vegas' opponents would be utterly distracted by those baby vomit-colored uniforms. Hideous! 🤮

From the Capitals play at the end of the season, and struggling at times with the #8 seed in Round One, I knew we wouldn't get past the Canes.

The handshake like last night is what I love about hockey. The Jets Mark Scheifele's father passed away unexpectedly this morning. He played tonight but lost the elimination game in OTand the series (he scored the Jets only goal). The Dallas player consoling him, Jamie Benn, was fined for punching him in the last game. A series in the NHL always ends with a handshake line. No fake handshakes, like in the NFL. Tonight, a little more. That's great sportsmanship.

Yeap we had the tissue box out on the couch last night after that game. What a sport, such a display of heart!

Were the Canes just rusty last night? Every didn't look good. To guess we'll find out tomorrow night.

Edmonton dominated P1 and P2 tonight but Dallas scores 3 PP goals in the 3rd to take the lead. Wow that's resiliency!
Canes are notoriously bad when well rested, this the case during the regular season for many years now and especially during the playoffs and especially when facing a Florida team who’s gonna get them off their game by making em chase hits all night instead of do what they do best.

I do think you’ll see a different team tonight, hopefully one that is able to put a stick in Floridas unbelievable puck support.
And I’d love to see Florida have to deal with all the rolling pucks tonight instead and actually give Freddie a chance to make some saves, I nearly wouldn’t fault him in a single one of those goals made Tuesday night. I liked a lot of what I saw from us in that game so I’m feeling confident tonight.

I think this is goin to be a good series, much closer than last years or the past 3 ECF’s were we got swept each round 😩
Time to break that ugly streak!

As a complete novice here I have been watching a couple of games and it's fast and tough which I happen to like, always loved rugby for that reason. I'm viewing Florida V's Carolina I think atm and Florida seems to play the man and not the puck far better but to my eye the Carolina guys are better with the puck even though that isn't showing on the scoreboard. I like the biff too, would like to see more of that :ROFLMAO:
