I have been lurking for a month or more, and registered about that long ago. Still a novice, even though I bought my first pipe in about 1975 when I was in Copenhagen while in the US Navy. Smoked randomly, off and on, while in graduate school and then not at all for decades (except for cigars when playing golf). Resumed the hobby when a son-in-law did about 8 years ago. Wife and I live in southeast Tennessee with children (and grandchildren) in Alabama and Texas.
