Welcome from Central Oregon.

You are right to be a bit overwhelmed by all the choices. I would recommend trying a tin or two from some of the broad categories of pipe tobacco: virginia, virginia/perique, english, burley, aromatics, etc. By doing this, you will be able to have at least some base to ask for recommendations.

Hello,
I'm retired now. I've used tobacco in some form since 1969 after boot camp. Chewed it, rolled my own, ready rolls, and pipes.
I quit over the years on several occasions due to work place, or simply social outcast. I bought my first pipe in 1975. I've accumulated or inherited a few more over the years. I now only smoke a pipe. I'm a novice regarding the several various types of tobacco so I'm hoping I can listen in on the forum conversations and learn something.
My first pipe was after boot camp, too, in 02’!

Long time pipe smoker here. Been lurking the site for a while and finally decided to join.
