New to me Patent era Parker Super briar Bark 5/F

I saw this blast and had to have it, even though it's mortise is broke.and.glued together, I'll make a mokume-gane ferrule for it to shore it up and maybe re-stain it but not sure if I should. I payed 15$ plus shipping so about 25$ total. I am comfortable with that. What do you folks think ?

I don't think you did bad at all even with the repair.
It looks like worst case scenario you could repair again with a band if necessary.

Also picked up some kaywoodies that I thought were darn neat, need some.work but I'll post them. Money is tight for me and my wife at the moment so I have to find high value at low.cost these.days. and online auctions have them if u look hard enough

Never had a parker before, I've admired them for a while now, it'll prob send me down another brand specific rabbit hole. Not.that I'm complaining or nothing.

Thanks, im excited to give it another life. It definitely called out to me from the 5 pipes it was being sold with. Luckily the person sold it to me by itself,, but then again I offered 15$ for 1 pipe. The lot of 5 didn't sell for starting bid of 25$ (I should have bought all 5 if just for the stems seeing as pipe repair and refurbishment Is a side job now) but in the end we're both happy and this beauty is saved, until I pass on and leave a collection of pipes no one in my family is interested in, so it ends up in storage for untold years until a picker buys it at auction or yardsale and finds an collector to love it for the first time in decades.
History may not repeat itself, but it does whistle the same melody
