I got a little income tax refund, and pulled the trigger on this Tim West "Old West" dublin.

You're going to like it. I have an Old West, and it is an excellent smoker.

I really like the quiet traditionalism of that pipe, and yet its bright stain and broad band too. Looks like it is a good weight for clenching and easy to pack. Nice briar for sure.

Thanks, guys!
I like that shape and especially the long saddle stem.
I really like saddle stems - have several billiards with one. I've been getting into dublins more, too. I'm really a traditionalist when it comes to shapes - I've got a lot of billiards (and the Canadian cousin family). This makes three dublins in the past year.
Yestedat I ran two bowls of Lane RR through it. It's not a big pipe - maybe a Dunhill Group 2 - but I got 45 minutes out of that RR. Smoked very well - minimal relights - smoked down nicely. I'll run a few more bowls of RR through it over the next few days, and then move it into rotation.

Very nice pipe. Love the grain. Maybe I can talk the wife into letting me use some tax money for a pipe.
