just won this peterson for a new project when i get settled into my new town, been stressing out hard over moving house and home so it is a little reward for not freaking out over everything that needs doing!!!
That Pete will clean up nicely, I'm sure. My suggestion, take your time with it.
I have a pretty abused Peterson Rhodesian that I've been working on for about 6 months on and off. I get to looking at it and get stumped as to how to bring him back to life. Other times, I get an idea of something to try. He's being stubborn, but I'm sure I'll convince that pipe to let me care for him.
I may be mistaken (have been a couple times before) but that pipe looks like a meershaum. If it is, it will take a completely different method of restoration.
I'll watch for the pictures as you progress.
