I've been digging Peterson lately. I've come to the liking of the X105 Billiard Shape recently and have purchased quite a few within the last month.

I have ordered a Dracula, Short, Aran and for my birthday my wife's cousin bought me a Burren. I'm leaving my 20's finally. 30 Here I COME

Today I came across a relatively rare shape, that I have only seen through pictures, but never in stock on any website for the last few years. I finally found this Peterson 31 System Straight. Not very expensive either.

It’s a system.. so it has a long reservoir under the chamber and the chamber is drilled directly downward rather than back. The tenon has a long metal chimney condenser. See the diagram he posted above ?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the straight system shape is hard to come by, at least in my experience. I never see them explicitly marketed. Did they stop producing them and it's NOS?

I don’t think they stopped making them. They’ve always been a small production shape/style for Peterson.

I'm a sucker for billiards and Petersons as well, though in various shapes. They had some rocky quality control issues a few years ago, but despite my eight or ten Petes, they've always come through just fine for me, at various price levels (low to mid-, no high end). If you like that chunky, sturdy look, they are irresistible. I love variety in shapes, but smoking a billiard is always a special kind of treat, like a homecoming.
