The New Orleans Pipe Club has secured a new location with an attached covered patio so that show attendees are able to smoke and have relatively easy access between the show flow and the smoking section.
Let's hope for cool weather.

Ok, so now we can smoke inside, or is it still that we can't smoke inside? I'm confused...
and how come everyone doesn't come to Alabama? We smoke everywhere. We seem to keep throwing money at the Nazi states and cities and then neglecting all of the states that encourage smoking. Phooey.

In my opinion Generations Hall is much more New Orleans and much less Las Vegas than Harrah's. I hope you guys have a great time.

The courtyard outside Generations Hall is really great and a few steps from the showroom floor...things got very complicated with Harrah's lawyers and smoking was going to be prohibited on the showroom floor and we would have to walk across the street and 200 yards away to smoke...I just found out about this and have been scrambling to secure a new venue...

Thank you guys for your sweat, tears, and hard work getting this show set up. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. THANK YOU!
Agreed! I'm sure the change of venue at the 11th hour wasn't without a fair amount of grief and heartburn. We all know it's not about the building, but the people. (and the pipes..and tobacco..and...)

When did this law go down? Can't believe New Orleans keeps shooting itself in the foot. Maybe if the pipe show offers to topple some statues, they'll light the smoking lamp.

I thought that I saw the issue had heated up.
FWIW,I'm glad to be out of the casino. That place was a bit too crowded for my taste.
Can you let us know parking options? (I had planned to park in Harrahs garage). If I can convince my daughter/wife to drop me off, it's a moot point!

Whole city of new orleans, no smoking inside now - no grandfathering, no nothing - which we were previously grandfathered. We were told we were no longer. So there we are.
Same thing here. The sounds of the rallies are carried on the wind, and the crunching of jackboots. Sometimes, there are great festivals and they play patriotic music. Sometimes we hear the executions of smokers. Their favorite method is a blend of easy-ignition plastic explosive which resembles Esoterica Penzance. The doomed many is led to an easy chair in a room with plastic-coated walls, then given his pipe and told he will be set free in an hour, he only needs to wait. They tell him smoking is acceptable and retreat behind the blast-proof window just outside the door... often it takes up to a half an hour, but soon the telltale curt snapping blast issues forth and the air fills with smoke... always they walk in, laughing jovially, to find what they expect: a headless corpse riddled with briar, sitting in the chair as if poised to make a stand.

Is this something they did just over night?
I'm glad I live in Vegas and the West Coast Show is here. Casinos here make too much money off all those old people that chain smoke and throw thousands of dollars into the slot machines. They'll never ban smoking indoors here in Las Vegas. If they did they'd loose millions in gambling revenue.
