A Florida shop told me they can’t ship to me in NC because of tax law changes. I’ve been ordering g from all over the place in the past. Has something new been legislated?

I live in NC and received a shipment of tobacco from Smoking Pipes yesterday. They charged both the sales tax and excise tax. Maybe the Florida shop doesn’t want to deal with collecting NC excise taxes?
Damn, Florida has some of the highest tobacco taxes in the US. Not only am I surprised that there is still a tobacco shop down there, I am shocked anyone would buy from it, ha ha.
I live in N.C. and haven't had any problem with recent shipments, pipe or tobacco. The retailers do charge tax. I haven't heard anything about any changes.
I’ve not any difficulties either, not sure they’re even right. They had some Carolina Red Flake, I would have bought some more!
With the number of people who seemingly live in NC on here I imagine the forums would be on fire if the state was suddenly a tobacco no-ship-zone.
Both of my vest friends live in NC and receive tobacco frequently with no issues. I haven't heard of any changes
Just got a package of tobacco few days ago from out of state. No issues. I was shocked to read the title. I always have a good laugh when I drive by "Welcome to Durham: City of Medicine".

But North Carolina is ranked 47 out of 50 for sin friendly tobacco taxes.
