Following on from a suggestion by Michael aka @cosmicfolklore regards Jack Daniel's release of their 'Triple Mash', I checked it out on Amazon and lo and behold, it was on special offer. £31:35 down from £40:99 so I plumped for one.

The night before its arrival I popped open a bottle of JD Single Barrel just to remind me of that distinct JD flavour profile. I needn't have bothered.

Triple Mash is a blend of malt, rye & Tennessee whiskeys (it doesn't state what proportions) and is bottled at 50% ABV or 100% proof. It claims to be at least 4 years old.

It's very tasty and in my humble opinion is more like a rye whiskey than any regular JD whiskey I've tried. Honey sweetness is one descriptor that I didn't get myself (I've had it on 3 evenings thus far) but I did get the spicy and slightly liquorice aftertaste which is very pleasant.

For me, getting the splash of water I like to add to my spirits just right makes a huge difference as to how I enjoy any particular juice and my late night tot last night I reckon I got my splash of water just right, all the flavours just popped in my mouth. I liked it so much that this morning I ordered another 6 bottles.

Thanks again Michael, pop over anytime you're in the area and I'll pour you a shot puffy

EDIT: I just found it's 60% rye, 20% malt whiskey & 20% Tennessee whiskey.
