New Arrival: 1904 Barling and Corn Cob

A parcel arrived last week
In it were a 1904 Barling and a corn cob
Generous presents from Tim (@ashdigger ) and Dave (@Ahi Ka )

Both given an overnight alcohol soak and now ready to be fired up this afternoon.
This is my first cob, so I'm looking forward to the cob experience.

1904?! That's uncanny. I like to think about the experiences had and memories made of the previous owners who once enjoyed that pipe. To last that long and still be serviceable seems to mean it was well-cared for, and important, to many people perhaps... for well over a century. History... in your hands.

Oh yeah, and the cob is nice too!
