I recently bought an estate pipe with a sterling military mount. I must have applied a little too much force on the stem cap when I used the tarnish removal/polishing cloth and the cap loosened up. It has not come off yet but I am anticipating it will in the future. What is the correct adhesive to use to re-glue the cap back on?
I thought I had seen a thread on this before but I couldn't find it. If it exists pls point me to it, otherwise pls give me your input on the correct adhesive. Thanx,
Dave 8O

You may want to read here. A very good site to search for repairs, check it out.

dmcmtk, thanx for the link. It certainly is an interesting article but I'm not sure it applies to my situation. I'm not trying to get a band back on but a rounded shank cap like you see on the Peterson System pipes. Thanx for the reply anyhoo!
