oh that's some bad ass Aztec warriors. I wonder what market that was intended for.Pipe Four: Medico Sterling, one of my father's pipes given to him by my mother as an anniversary present, I believe purchased at Grandpa Pidgeon's General Store in Bridgeton, MO.View attachment 94225View attachment 94226View attachment 94227View attachment 94228View attachment 94229View attachment 94230
I think you’re right. That explains a lot.oh that's some bad ass Aztec warriors. I wonder what market that was intended for.
looks like they have jaguars on their heads and those evil obsidian swords that could easily be use to decapitate a person (which is harder then people think, I have no experience with it but you know what I mean there is a lot more to cut through then people think).I think you’re right. It’s the most interesting pipe in the collection. They were somewhat not uncommon. Medico made quite a few of these.looks like they have jaguars on their heads and those evil obsidian swords that could easily be use to decapitate a person (which is harder then people think, I have no experience with it but you know what I mean there is a lot more to cut through then people think).
that's pretty awesome. I could see picking up a pipe like that for the novelty of the metal work. It’s the most interesting pipe in the collection. They were somewhat not uncommon. Medico made quite a few of these.
They can get hot. Very hot.that's pretty awesome. I could see picking up a pipe like that for the novelty of the metal work.
Why thank you very much. I do enjoy them in all of their simplicity.I've been snobby about pipes since forever. But such remarks are unfit to be voiced next to the fantastic job you've done making these pipes shine. It's quite evident how much you love them!
I never have much problem with pipes getting hot. So basically a good pipe for teaching a smoker to slow the heck down. You have to keep the pipe in hand the whole smoke!!!They can get hot. Very hot.
Ha ha. Yes that would be a lesson.I never have much problem with pipes getting hot. So basically a good pipe for teaching a smoker to slow the heck down. You have to keep the pipe in hand the whole smoke!!!
Or you can own a Porsche pipe. I want to get one even though they are not the most attractive pipe.I can respect a collection of Grabows and all of the rest of that type. We used to have a forum member who collected all things Grabow, but he met an unfortunately horrible fate. I miss him.
I have one Grabow, it was my Uncle Joe's. It smokes well enough. I hear that Yellowbowl has a line of... more handmade level of pipes. I am wanting one of those, but just keep forgetting to look for one.
I hate to sound snobbish... well, no I don't ha ha, just please tolerate my snobbishness, and I will respect your choices, but... I will never own a Ferrari or Porsche, but the most expensive pf pipes are within my grasp, so owning a Porsche of pipes is about as close to high end luxury that I will have in my life. So, those are where my passions lie.
But, i do love to see and hear about collections like these. It is definitely a worthy collection. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. I hope it inspires people to see value in the cast spectrum of pipes, not just high end. What say I?
Well done! Great exhibition.
my tastes run more in the 100-200 dollar range. But also the 40-80 range more then the 500-oh my god it's time to sell a kidney range. Love these pipes. Old Grabows are great looking (new ones not so much to me).Thank you. I hope it inspires people to see value in the cast spectrum of pipes, not just high end.
These are the ones I came into contact as a small boy.No Webers?
