We did everything together. She was my comforter. I ate meals with her, watched TV, carved, and worked with laptop in hand while in her comfortable embrace. But old age had taken its toll. She became a broken, tangled, mess.
So my wife and I drove her to the landfill. It was time to bury her. As I placed her broken remains on the ground I noticed a lounge chair resting on the heap of rubble not far from where we were. I walked over to take a closer look, and was quite surprised at the nice condition it was in.
“Look. This is nice.” I told my wife.
“Are you crazy?” She replied.
“No I’m not. You know how expensive new lounge chairs are.”
“There is no way you are bringing that thing home.”
“Why not? You’re not the one that’s going to sit in it. It just needs a bit of cleaning.”
Well my wife won the argument. So that means I will be shopping for a low priced lounge chair.
