Nice pipes. I love my Grabows. My favorite smoke may very well be SWR ina Grand Duke. There's a reason the pipes have been around so long, they're damn good pipes.
I have only been smoking the smooth Golden Duke since January but the others have been begging for attention. I have been trying to see just how much punishment one can take
You certainly have a type - black Grabows!
As for how much punishment one can take, I refer you to @didimauw
They can take....all of it. Out of the three I smoked, one I cracked the shank and one split in the stem, by smoking them too fast/hot often. And I'm talking 8 hours a day, when the one with the shank that cracked. That was the tiny straight billiard one they sell.
And the third one....well...it did well.
that sounds like everyone I know who has cracked a pipe, excepting the few people that just dropped it right. Or the guy whose wife put his meer collection in the dishwasher (surprised there was no murder involved or divorce).
