Love it! The shape and proportions work great together and the finish contrasted with the stem is icing on the cake.

Wow, that is stunning! Chris was using a polyester material for his stems - they have a wonderful feel. If that one is polyester, you are in for a treat.
Yes the stem is a polyester mouthpiece of butterscotch and cream color. The pipe has a very tactile feel too. The way the grain of the Morta is running is give it a very distinct feel. I was really on the fence on paying such a high price for a pipe but I will be getting more Askwith pipes going forward. This is the best crafted pipe I own and have over 30 pipes.

Congratulations! I am a big fan of Chris Askwith. He cuts his own morta blocks and leave them to dry for at least one year before making pipes from them. Really nice fellow too and very easy to talk to.

My very own first fully handmade pipe was comissioned from him. Very reasonable price for the quality of his craftsmanship:
