My Favorite Pipe, made by Premal Chheda

I don't buy many pipes, so I haven't really had anything to post here. But earlier this year I received this pipe as a gift from Premal Chheda. Premal made this pipe and it did not pass his very high standards of either technical quality or design that he requires for each of his "Chheda" Pipes. So he sent it to me!!!. I am very grateful for this pipe and it is my favorite pipe.
I met Premal in 2013 at the Columbus Ohio NASPC pipe show. This was my first pipe show. Since this show, Premal has been teaching me about pipes and Pipe making. Premal is someone who will befriend a complete stranger, and help them out, asking nothing in return. Premal owns and operates Smokers Haven. At www.smokershaven.com you can find excellent tobacco that is made for Smokers Haven exclusively. You will also find "Chheda" pipes and many other pipes and tobacco.
This pipe is a Sandblasted, Black, Billard w/"cumberland" Ebonite Saddle Stem. (I have smoked this pipe before I took these pictures.)

The best things that can ever happen to an FNG/new piper is finding a mentor, or Rabbi, and developing a network of same interest friends. Same-same holds true if you ever go to work for a large corporation. I've done both and piping is a helluva lot more fun.
Premal Chheda is a water walker around here. In the meantime, learn, learn, learn and count your blessings.

Board: Premal is one of a kind. Clark understates his generosity of both spirit AND resources. I know for a fact that he's spent thousands of dollars of his own money arranging and hosting free seminars and workshops that had multiple give-aways, free top-drawer catered meals, and etc. in addition to giving away his hard-won pipe making knowledge. Why? Because that sort of stuff is simply what the man does. It's how he's wired.
So. Please send him your business. Smoker's Haven in Columbus, Ohio. It has been one of the cornerstones of our hobby for decades.
Did I mention that he's also a nice guy? :lol:

That's a beauty alright! Recently discovered Smokers Haven an have bought a couple pipes from them. What really surprised me about them is. There prices aren't set in stone. They will actually deal on the price. Congrats!

Great pipe. I can see we he might reject it, but truth be told, I like pipes with personality and that one with it's tulip lip certainly qualifies. But hey, I think girls with a gap in their front teeth are sexy, so what do I know.
That stem...man, that is a real standout. Thanks for showing it off. The slot is really noteworthy.

Premal is aces. You can never go wrong dealing with him. The stable of carvers he has helped is long and growing. His current work with Jesse Jones is well beyond impressive.

If anything you guys are UNDERSTATING what a truly good guy Premal is. If everyone was as kind and generous as Premal, the world would be an awfully friendly place. Premal and Smokers Haven are just top notch all the way around.
