Multi-colored Acrylic Stems - Why?

For some reason I'm a big sucker for the Cumberland look, in my case mostly acrylic faux Cumberland, and very reserved, but there's just something about that little subdued pattern in an essentially dark stem that really lights my pipe.

I’m obsessed with Dunhill Cumberland’s at the moment. Gorgeous pipes. For a bit cheaper a few of the well executed Peterson Harp’s scratch the same itch, for me at least.

I like the hand poured Eldritch pipe stems that have been on some of the recent Rattrays lines, the meerschaum ones looked particularly nice.
