It's a three hour trip but well worth the drive. Amazing staff, great choice of tobaccos & pipes plus a huge selection of estate burners you'll need to request to see. (The drawers go and on.)

Omaha is a wonderful community, but Kansas City blows it out of the water with professional and semi-pro sports, restaurants, museums, music and cultural events.
FWIW, check out Omaha's tie to the Mafia and organized crime someday when you're bored. (Mob pencil lickers and bean counters led quiet, unobtrusive lives in Nebraska's largest city.)

While I have never been, while watching television shows about nature, I've learned that they have wonderful insurance there.

If you like Indian food go to Jaipur Brewing company. As good as anything you'll find in a coastal city. They make a mean Jalapeño beer too. Spent a good amount of time time there when I was running Nelson's campaign.

If you like to eat fish I highly recommend Joe Tess Place. Nothing fancy & been in business forever. They have seafood flown in but their freshwater fish is the best you will find anywhere. Walleye, Rainbow Trout, catfish & carp.

If you like microbreweries there is a Rock Bottom Brewery & Restaurant in the Old Market area. Also Upstream Brewery & Billiards. The Old Market area is a nice entertainment area made up mostly of local venues but with some chains there as well.

My hometown and proud of it. Constantly ranked so one of the best cities to live in. One of the best zoos in the world, College World Series, wonderful downtown "Old Market" with tons of excellent shops and restaurants. I will second Upstream, especially the schnitzel. There is a small tobacconist down there also. The Leahy mall is a nice stroll in daylight hours.

Across the river into Council Bluffs the casinos are there if that's you're thing. Minor league baseball and Hockey. Ther Oakview mall is the best one.

Roman coin pizza, The Bohemian Cafe in south Omaha is great old world food. Piccolo Petes but will be closing soon due to the age of owners.

The Drover off 72nd for the best steakhouse. I could go on and on and miss O town so much.
