I'm sure this has been covered before, I'm relatively new to the site, so I apologize if I'm plowing old ground. Have a couple pipes -- a GBD and a BBB -- where the tenon doesn't fit into the mortise. Is it advisable to lightly sand the tenon? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Or some hard soap, like the pipe makers from St. Claude used to do in the old days.
I had fine results with graphite powder; or rub the tenon with a lead pencil .
If the tenon really does not fit, gently sand it with waterproof sanding paper.
