As being 1/2 way on doing things,I drilled the mortise too big.

Now I never have 2 drill bits laying side by side. Pre Drilled on scrap

to be sure that the tenon would fit. Took bit out and drilled just

enough in to the bowl for guidance in doing the mortise.

That's when i picked up the wrong drill bit.

To fix it i put Silicone black gasket sealer around tenon.

Might work ,time will tell. Harmful? who knows. I breathed

enough carbon off of pistons and valves and arching brake shoes

that it shouldn't matter noway.

Might work! I'd have just put a couple of wraps of electrical tape around it!.Or maybe you could fill the mortise with epoxy and re-drill? Try a different stem?

I always fit the tenon to the mortice. PIMO has a decent tenon tool for around 70 bucks that lets you sneak up on the right size.

Thanks guys,

i thought about the epoxy. I have 2 nibs off a deer antler that i have blade blanks with tabs

for. So if this doesn't work than I will do thatand the antlers.

I buy my stems from PIMO and I have 4 left but all the same sizes.

My CFO probably would no sigh a purchase Order for the tenon tool. If my work was the quality of what

you all do more than likely it would not be a problem.

The stem is going in to a fig tree branch and I have 3 more feet of it . So no lost.
