For anyone who doesn’t know about these yet.....you’re doing it wrong!!! My new Moretti arrived today, one of his many Castello 55 clones.

It is larger than a KKKK Castello 55 by a ways, nearly 6 inches, 1.5 in deep chamber with .88 inch diameter and even thicker walls. Passes a pipe cleaner with ease like all Marco’s Pipes.

The biggest difference between the Moretti and Castello? I paid $100 for this pipe brand new. That's less than half the price of the cheapest of the ittiest of the bitty new Castello 55's out there folks, let alone a huge one like this.

If you don’t have any Moretti pipes yet...... GET ON IT! His direct selling on ebay is arguably the best value in pipes today. Beyond that he is a true gentleman and shipping from Italy is lightning quick and cheap. Mine arrived in less than a week for $17.

Very nice. As a fan of the 55, I want a Castello, but woo woo they are pricey.

Yes they are, that's why I think Marco's are quite the deal. I do have one KKKK Castello 55. It is definitely a great pipe and I do prefer their newer sea rock rustication to Marco's, but the price difference, my God, hard to justify.

I agree on Moretti. I have 3 and they are top on my rotation. I don't have this style because I don't like it but I can't find any fault with Marco's quality and his price is out of this world for a truly hand made pipe. ??????????

So, I sussed him out on ewwBay. Didn't find anything that would strike my fancy but I did find three for Embers (though he'd probably say the chambers are too small):

Yeah he makes some insanely gargantuan pipes. There are a couple of leviathan pokers he has on ebay (One straight grain and one birdseye) that I'm pretty sure you could forge a sword with. Too rich for my blood at $1K + each but a hell of a chunk of briar to admire.

Perfect size, but I can't bring myself to lay down that kind of cash for rustication. My Moretti magnum is a 9 ouncer and was $113.

I own 5 now, one of which has the most striking use of grain of any pipe I’ve ever owned. Amazing straight grain on both sides, and tight birdseye covering the entire bottom. For just over $100, I’ve never seen anything like it:

The secret is out! I have been collecting his pipes for years, outstanding in all aspects. Now he will start increasing his prices (and possibly rightly so, he deserves the recognition).
