While out antique store hunting I came across a spot that was almost half pawn shop, half antique store. Unlike pawn shops I’ve seen back home this place was nice.

First one is a Vauen Bruyere Garantie. I can’t find anything on the Garantie line. It is a pretty large pipe. Garantie is German for warranty, I thought was interesting. I only have google to rely on for translations.

Next one is a Stanwell Winslow A.S. Very nice and will get the alcohol treatment and polishing.

Last one will be tricky to work on, it’s a ECHT Meerschaum. The amber stem seems to not be the original and doesn’t line up straight. The shank is cracked and appears to be glued together. Never used debonder on a pipe but will be trying that to loosen what appears to be superglue. Then I’ll rebond them together and have them lined up to hide the crack. Never worked amber so I may not resize it. It looks beautiful as is, but bit small for me to smoke. I’m afraid I’d drop it.

I‘ll post progress pics when I get home, and start working.

Interesting haul.
It's a bit difficult telling the size of the meer from just the photo. Is it a pipe or a cheeroot/cigar holder ?
Would love to see the work in progress, as well as the finished items.
Good luck working on them.

Wow that meerschaum really is small. Were cigar holders made at an angle like that vs. straight?

I’m not sure, I have a couple of straight ones. This could be a female pipe since the size, so it could fit in a handbag.

If anyone has more info I’m interested. I’d love to know the history of these pieces.

The vauen is most likely pre-ww2. Does it have any other markings?

the meer is a cheroot holder.

I wasn’t expecting it to be pre-ww2, I couldn’t find any information. This is the other side of the shank.

Very interesting on the meer. I’m really curious on possible dates for when they were made like that.
