I don't have this one ... yet. But I really like the special editions with acrylic stems. I chew through the regular stems. I have the C&D/MM collaboration cob, the Charles Townes, and one or two others. I will try to stay away from those sites if I can. Such a great price, and I haven't had one burn out yet, not even the older regular ones I refitted with Forever stems. So far, they last about like briars, forever.

I see what you’re saying, they are similar. Certainly, many won’t see the need to pay $20 more for the Moonshine over the Dagner. I love my Dagner cob, no doubt about it. However, in my opinion its easy to see where the extra $20 goes. Here’s some comparison pics for those that are trying to decide, if they think it’s worth it.

Appreciate the "take down" and comparisons. I was wondering when MM was going to add more "premium" cobs to their line up. With all these "boutique" makers selling Franken-Cobs for $100-200, it only made sense the big boys actually got into the game themselves.

Will be watching this space carefully, excited to see if they release any more of those handsome calabashes (which I've frankensteined one for myself) or maybe even new hanger shapes? Honestly, I might prefer the taste of a cob pipe to that of a briar and I know *A LOT* of people share that opinion.

EDIT: is it me or does the draught hole look a lot smaller?

Happy to do it, that way everyone gets a good look before spending the money. I’m definitely pleased with the one I received. The Stoker does look like it has a smaller drought hole, on closer inspection..........

Dagner - 5/32 = 3.97 mm
The Stoker- 9/64 = 3.57 mm3D9FA5A0-AE46-4826-84E5-FCD397BBD644.jpeg

0.4mm is, what, about 12% difference? I wonder if I'm just being pedantic here or if there will be a noticeable difference in the draw.

Let us know when you get a chance! I'd be curious. Probably won't stop me from buying one either way though... ?

Sounds like a good reason to load them both up and smoke them side by side. I have some opinions now but I will wait to give a more accurate description after a side by side. Hopefully others who have smoked theirs will weigh in as well.
I had to look up Pandantic, no not at all. Information is power!

There is a difference in pull, it’s fairly slight. (opinions will vary)
I will say the overall feel of smoking them is different, just because the stems are so different. I can see some people preferring one over the other. That said, I think most will just enjoy them both for what they are, nice cobs.
