Meerschaum, Calabash Help

Hi Anyone out there have any solutions for removing a meerschaum bowl from a calabash pipe? I tried the freezer method,would heat work better? It is FLUSH with rim. In the past I have fitted a razor knife between the bowl and pipe rim and worked my way around the bowl. (very gently). But there is no room on this one. HELP !!!!!!

I would try warming the gourd body with a heatgun lightly and trying to twist the meer insert.

Thanks BROBS, I will try hair dryer before using heat gun, actually, I have it sitting by heat register now, baby steps. Will update.

Tim West suggested smoking pipe. I smoked 2 bowls, and meerschaum came out effortlessly!!!!!!!

Now that it's free, condition the cork gasket with lanolin to soften it up.

I put mine in the freezer for .5 hour. Popped right out.

Yes, that has always worked for me with briars. First time trying gourd. Heat seems to be the answer with gourd pipes.
