Well obviously it needs to be sanded down and then reshaped. That will also result in having to probably sand the entire stummel and dye. However, that's a little advanced for where I'm at right now. I'm also thinking about once it is fully clean and sterilized I might just smoke it.
So after dumping The salt I decided to clean the outside of the stummel with Murphy’s soap. I put a cork in the chamber and three Q-tips in the stem. A small drop of Murphy’s is more than enough lots of wiping and then polishing with a clean soft rag.
The rim is charred and really needs to be sanded off. But I’m not advanced enough for that year. Besides, I kinda like it. I dunno. I did polish it more. It’s done for now.
Nice job, sometimes I don’t get too aggressive to remove all the wear and tear if it means it will alter the pipe too much or if I like the effect created.
