I think people are going to say GH Ropes but I think those are in a different flavor ball park. You could try the cherry and whiskey and rum topped ones though, and it might scratch a nearer itch. If you've tried them, you know what I mean.

I haven't had this, but curly block? I think it lacks the wrapper leaf and is hard to get and expensive, but that may be more in the wheel house, though it's I guess a rod more than a rope.

Motzek?

I kind of assumed G&H as the manufacturer. But of their offerings I've only had whisky twist and black Irish x. Both of which are fine tobaccos, but neither is of the "dark vingina" family.

I have not tried these blends but they be in line for what you're looking for:
Wessex Curley Block
Peter Heinrich's Curly Special

You may also like Rattrays Marlin Flake which I have tried. It's a moderately cased predominately virginia flake that has a darker fruity character.

I've had Wessex Curly Block. It's neither of this flavor profile nor a rope. I appreciate the recommendation, though.

Let me open up the question a little: are there other producers of ropes besides G&H whose offerings I can search through?
