Has anyone ever tried one of those mason jar vacuum sealers? I just screwed down my jars tight and was thinking if using one to achieve a better seal without reboiling/redoing some recently stored jars.

Yeah. For tobacco. I just know a lot of people talk about heating the jars etc. I mentioned this in another post, that I didn’t do any of the heat etc. so was wondering if this would help my cellar last longer.

Thanks guys. Appreciate it. I read the other threads on the topic, and the answers were all over the place. Didn’t want to make a costly mistake early in the cellaring game.

I used to think it was so cool, looking at all my jars. Untill I had to move them all around. Now everything that isn't in my immediate rotation is in mylar bags.
They all have zips and then are heat sealed with the wife's hair straightener.

I donated my used jars to my mother in law for her vegetable canning.

Add Teflon to the jar thread. I did it, and it is impossible to open the glass jar. I can only see the tobacco through the glass. That way I never run out of tobacco stock.
