I just received my Marvic Devil Anse Lovat today. I had this big beautiful baby commissioned from my friend Gary Balestrieri. Aside from drilling the bowl chamber, Gary makes all his pipes by hand.
I love hybrids of classic pipe shapes, so we brainstormed and came up with this. This a huge pipe over 7 inches long. I told Gary I wanted a reading pipe and not a clencher, so weight wasn't an issue. I like blasted or rusticated pipes to hold for reading. I believe "super craggy" is what I told him for the rustication. I like reading a pipe like braille with my hand as I read a book. Surprisingly it isn't heavy and is a good clencher as well. I fired it up about 30 minutes after grabbing it from the mailbox. This is my second Marvic and plans are already in the works for another.

Very nice Dave! Its strange though , I can actually see you sitting by a window with a book an that pipe an your 140 lbs 4 legged friend by your side. Enjoy!

Nice one Ed. Just when I thought your custom pipes couldn't get any better...
Those are prototypes Dave. I'm still trying to figure out how make the erasers look more like stems ! :lol:
