Here is a post with my initial results on dating MacBaren Tins:
Modern is dated on label.
Kretek Era (2004-2012):
Example: 2043121
2 = the machine no.
04= the year
312= the day it is produced
1= 1st shift or 2nd shift (in this case 1st shift).
Swisher Era (at least in 2003):
Example: 08351031 (08-351-03-1)
08= the machine no
351= the day no it was produced (in this case 17. December)
03= the year (2003)
1= Shift (Shift 1-2-3 = day, afternoon/evening and night)
I don't recall dates on the Woodside tins.
