I'm not going to call them out just yet. I'll give it a week or so for a reply with some sort of explanation. I hate slandering someones name if there is an honest mistake that was made and corrected.
A week? I’d give them the weekend, but that’s about my limit. Although I do understand you reserving the call out, as mistakes can happen, and as long as they correct it, should be good.
Wondering why you opened the tobacco though?

I suppose out of irritated curiosity. They did write "pure virginia" on a sticker on the bag... I really wanted to see what was inside. Maybe I should have left it sealed, but oh well. I'm still annoyed regardless, lol.

I could venture a guess who did it, but will refrain. Just make sure they didn’t pull the old switcheroo on your order confirmation. I’ve had that happen, where I ordered top tier tobacco, and when I went to check out, it was switched to something cheap (but price remained). Same vendor sent me something (their house blend) in lieu of what I ordered, then tried giving me the runaround when I complained. Said “it’s virtually the same” then offered a 20% off coupon, then claimed they didn’t have what I ordered in stock. I contested charges with my CC and they were reversed. Haven’t done business with them since.
Why would any retailer be such a dick?

You’d have to ask them.?‍♂️ I used to be a regular, but the last several years (which coincides with their purchase by a conglomerate) have been terrible. Lots of bait and switch, selling stuff that’s not in stock, holding $$$ for weeks without shipping product, and the WORST customer service in the tobacco industry.

I completely understand about wanting to give them a chance to make things right before "calling them out" here. Honest mistakes happen all the time, everyone had their Friday afternoons and Monday mornings. And most companies will try to find a fair resolution to things like this. I've worked enough service jobs to know that everyone is human. And I know my current employer is more interested in 1 or 2 start ratings than 4 or 5, doubly so if we're in the wrong.

Either way, once this is over,can you let us know? The places that try to make it right are as important as the ones who will shrug their shoulders and turn their backs. Thanks.
