Viprati was my favorite Italian carver.

I have 2 great Viprati pipes from 2000-2001 and this one that I just in December. Thank you, Luigi and be at peace!

Don't own one but loved his work. RIP Luigi, some fine pipe carvers were you're going.
Sad news. I have two of his pipes which are very well made and smoke great. He will be greatly missed. RIP.

This is a stunning example of his talent.

What sad news! I am guessing that nearly none of us ever met the man, but his work is telling. His was one of the few Italian shops to make Italian pipe artistry accessible to smokers across the spectrum of ability to pay. To me, that was testimony to his love of the pipe, pipe making, and pipe smokers everywhere.

First nicer pipe I got and have had many. That’s sad to hear. I was just reading up on him as a refresh the other day.
RIP - he will be well remembered by his excellent workmanship.
