Looking to Buy a Meerschaum Pipe

I have a question if any of you know, will it affect the coloring negatively if I don't fill the bowl up all the way every single smoke? The bowl is generously-sized, and sometimes I might not fill the bowl all the way up. Just wondering if this will make the bowl color unevenly or not?

I don't think it will cause you problems. Every pipe is different, but a lot will start coloring towards the shank first anyways. If packing a shorter smoke, I would be more weary of charring the rim with lighting. If careful with that I think you will be fine.

Yeah, Embers, I bet! How often do you have to smoke in the two week period if you want to go through that process? I read about it, but couldn't find anything on how many bowls each day you should be smoking. I currently smoke about 2 bowls a day, a great day 3.

From what I have read, you smoke it as many times as you can each day for two weeks. Regular cleaning between each smoke, obviously. At the end of those two weeks, the pipe is placed in its case to rest for a month. After the rest the process is repeated.

That will be a very sad month. Will it not color if you don't give it a rest?

It just gives it time to dry, and to allow the sepiolite to absorb the oil and tars from the tobacco.
