So I purchased some blends to try and one of them was 1 oz Original Mixture which is described as rich, full flavored aromatic blend of medium strength. It is slow burning and cool. Well this stuff smells and tastes like what I can only describe as floral, Lakelandish, old and baby powder. It ghosted the pipe and my mouth and I’m still thinking about it today. The most Lakeland I can take is St Bruno. Not for me. Anyone else try this?

I am a big fan of Peretti and havev been a customer for many decades. They are famous for both their Burley and their English blends. Most of their Burleys have a soapy/lakeland flavor to one extent or another. Aromatic blends such as original and No Name have, in my opinion, far too much in the way of granny perfume. I have smoked them in the past but would not now. If you like some Lakeland/floral flavor and also enjoy English blends then you might enjoy Crown. They also blend Burleys with just a little or minimum extra flavor and you can always call them to see if one might be to your liking.
Even their annual Thanksgiving Day Blend which I enjoy and buy every year has a slight soapy note.

I really like No Name and Original mixture. I like to mix them with a straight burley. They remind of the old 79 mixture. The flavor doesn't at all remind me of Lakeland, while it is strong in these two blends to me it's a totally different animal. Doesn't at all remind me of grandma's house, her house usually smelled like cabbage, onions or sauerkraut😁

I really like Original. I can understand why many wouldn't, though. Like so many things in life, it's not for everyone.

I think we're very fortunate that, even with the recent losses we've suffered, we still live in a world with such a vast variety of blends.

Smoking it now in a vintage Kaywoodie thorn zulu. It's a perfect blend when you don't want a VA, or a vaper, or a Latakia Oriental. It's fresh and cool and pretty solid. I'm going to get more because I don't have much like it in my cellar. I need to try "no name"...I read it's even more powerful in the flavor profile. I dig this original.

I like both No Name and Original a lot. I find myself mixing them with other burleys sometimes.
