Plugs, rope, good, but don't gots none rat now.

Curious as to how folks dry their tobacco? Before or after cutting? Not at all?
Ahem, excuse me but I expected better from a moderator & Tottenham supporter.?
image.jpegThe only twist I used to dry (after cutting into coins) was Rum Twist. Don't need to bother now as I only buy the 'pre sliced' twist & no drying time required I've found.

@Ahi Ka can you say why as to your preference for plugs, say if you had the choice of the same blend in Flake or plug form ?
I've got very little experience with most blends on the market ( and yet to try any plug ) but I wonder sometimes whether I would notice the difference if my favourite flake, University Flake, would smoke any different if it was suddenly made as a plug.

I received Byronic Hiro from KBV yesterday. It reminds me of Salty Dogs in density, but harder to cut. Took no time to dry out. I feel like I need a cleaver to cut it. Definitely needs a long cut as opposed to short since it does not pack well when dry.

Byronic Hero is a damn brick. That's dense stuff
Damn skippy. I put a dent in my bamboo desk from my knife slipping. I need to stop being lazy and just get my chef's knife and a proper cutting board. If I knew it would stay moist, I would cut it all up in one go, but I think that will just ruin it.

I cut a few flakes and took em to a coffee grinder. Left the rest in plug form. It's definitely an animal to be dealt with, packing that stuff

It started out as just trying something different, and then my purchases were influenced by what was available, but now I’ve really grown to love being able to shave tobacco off a plug which is shag thin. I also enjoy the process involved in getting a smoke ready.

my favourite VaPer is st James plug. I have always been curious to try it against the flake.

I have been ticketed in NYC for spitting Levi Garrett onto the subway tracks once.
I know people that love it, but to me NYC is a dreadful place. Quite ironic that you got ticketed for spitting in a place that reeks like a full port-o-john on a warm day.

I suppose you could stuff a bit of plug between your upper lip and gum, like swedish snuus, if you wanted a less saliva to deal with.

For those interested (and those that missed the Gawith plug drop), P&C is offering 25% off the Cascadia plugs. They are about $11.47 for a 1.75 ounce tin.

Decent price for Cascadia and plugs in general (although I am trying to stay at under $5 an ounce or $10 a tin).
