I tried to get Les to let me take a selfie of us when we were together yesterday but when he found out I’d won the bag of matches in every slow smoke I’d competed in he demurred. And after brief reflection he scoffed. I’d never heard anyone scoff out loud before. It kind of sounds like a cross between a retching noise and finger nails on a chalkboard.
