Paul Humbartt is an artisan pipemaker now located in Cornwall England. A couple years ago he injured his hand and quit making pipes. Well he recovered over time, and started slowly making pipes again a couple months back. He just put 15 new pipes up on his website last Monday. I picked up this one, and commissioned another. Check out his tree bark rustication (not on my pipe - on others he makes). For some, it won't be their thing. For others, it'll be a "WOW!"

I don't know how to reference the other pictures of that Tulip, but did you see the plateaux rim on that? Perfection!

Impressive that he had the fortitude to heal his hands and return to his work. No small feat.

I remember his pipes and had wondered what had happened. It's good to hear he's doing better and making pipes again. He has a reputation for making great pipes, and those new ones posted on his website look very nice.

Yeah he started making pipes a couple months ago. So far slowly but he is coming along.
This is my one and only Larrysson. It is honestly one of my best smokers. A long light blasted prince that I picked up as a lightly smoked estate.

Great looking pipes. I have heard nothing but great things about his pipes, he is on my short list of artisans to acquire.
jmatt, great pick up. I hope it smokes great for you.

I'm amazed this one is still for sale. I bought the other rhodesian or I'd buy this one too.

Many of his pipes seem to take shape from the flow of the grain. Very natural as in nature look to his work. Glad he is back an I'll bet it wasn't easy either.

I've had the first one I bought for about a month. It was instantly one of my favorites and I usually smoke one bowl a day in it. For the money I'm amazed at what I got.

I picked one of his up a few months but haven't had a chance to smoke it yet. This thread has reminded me that I need to some time soon!

I saw that stubby Rhodesian and couldn't resist. The craftsmanship is truly exceptional but it actually smokes even better than it looks. One thing I found interesting is that he dates his work right on the panel. Highly recommend. His pipes are a wonderful addition to any collection.
