RLP-6 is one of my longtime favorite aromatics. Lane Limited also makes a blend named LL-7 which is very similar.
Ray47: If you had to pick out the differences between LL-7 and RPL-6 .....what would those differences be?
I smoke a homemade custom mixture that uses HGL as the main component, and HGL is just really RPL-6 with a little added Latakia. Now I wanna try LL-7, too.

LL-7 to my tastes has slightly less vanilla flavoring, but it could be just me.
Have you tried the Cult Embassy and Conspiracy? I really like the contrast of the Latakia with the sweet aro(ness). I will have to try the HGL.

LL-7 reminds me of my favorite Captain Black pipe tobacco, Copper. CB Copper was literally a masterpiece aromatic and of course Lane had to discontinue making it.
RLP-6 is the blend that got me “hooked” on the pipe. I used to buy it in bulk from The Sanctuary in San Luis Obispo, CA. It was relabeled as “Monks”.
It is one of the base blends in John Denglers famous Black Maria. It is also a component in his Camerons blend which is then used to make Lazy Bones, a favorite of mine.
Try Lane HGL - an aromatic with a pinch of smoky Latakia. I've been enjoying it quite a bit as of late. Welcome to the hobby!

I do prefer resurrecting threads (if possible) over starting new ones on the same topic so you can see what's already been discussed. This thread actually got me to buy 4oz of RLP-6 just to remember what it was like.
This place is the home of resurrection of old threads. I don’t mind though. After a few years it can be largely a new crowd doing the discussing, giving different perspectives.
RLP-6 is great stuff, I love it. I think it's easily top 5 bulks available.
As far as my bulk tobacco I go with a triple header.

The classics are classic for a reason. 1Q, RLP-6, and MV-1000 are my favorite Lane's blends. Consistently good.
