Yeah that works too.
Hey, I was going to quote davet, where is the quote button? And while we are at it; where is the like button? Maybe they don't show up on my tablet?

Here is my newest addition. A #72 Super Grain 4 hole Canadian.

I paid more than I wanted or needed to; but this one is really clean and I love the shape. I couldn't let it get by me. Just in time for Christmas and Bing Crosby records!

It's an addiction! I've recently added a Kaywoodie lighter to my collection. Now I need the stand and Pipe knife. I have a kaywoodie reamer as well. Its pretty neat.

@gambit88 you are doing nothing to dissuade my obsession! My wife would like to have a few words with you haha.
I have seen the lighters, do they work well? I did not know about the knife... another touchy subject.
Go to your room! ;)

The one I have does. Its from the 50s or early 60s is my guess. The knife was made by Rodgers(I think) and has the kaywoodie logo on the tamper.

I took my billiard down to the pipe shop and had him ream the cake out. It was pretty thick and was ghosting latakia. I like latakia; but I didn't want it in that pipe. It smokes so much better now that I may have them all done.
He told me about a cleaning process called retort, I think, and said it would deep clean the pipe to new condition. He only does it to his own pipes and not for customers. Anybody know what this process is?

All you need to know about retorts. I only do it on real nasty estates.

I have a relief grain 22 Billiard, a relief grain H6 Belgium, piezo lighter, and leather sleeve on the way; and I will share pics when I get them.
I did pick up this nice little knife :)

Here are #5 and #6.
Number 5 is a 22 relief grain billiard that has had it's stinger snipped. One day I will have that fixed

Number 6 is an H6 Belgium - very excited to try this one!

I only plan on 1 more to complete my set and I am looking for something very special

I have been obsessing about getting the right #7. I looked at a crazy white girlyish pipe and passed, I looked at a meer but it ended up higher than I expected, and I looked at a bunch of average kaywoodie pipes. Then I went super crazy and overanalyzed the characteristics of the 6 kaywoodies I now have:
20160112_194320_zps27drcadc.jpg

Finish: 2 white, 2 smooth, 2 relief

Color: 3 dark, 2 white, 1 light

Bowl: 3 billiard, 2 tapered, 1 squat

Stummel: 3 round, 2 oval, 1 diamond

Stem: 5 tapered, 1 saddle

Bend: 2 straight, 2 slight, 1 half, 1 full
I guess I need a smooth, light, squat, saddle; with either a half or full bend. I left out the stummel because it points squarely at another bulldog. How boring is that??
I am asking you now to recommend some nice shapes, with pics please, of what might balance out my collection.
And yes, medication might help.... :)

How about a pipe from the Kaywoodie Sterling line? They were Italian made briars that Kaywoodie sold at pipe shows as a grade between their regular line, and their handmades. P and C has all the remaking stock of them, and they have a number of attractive shapes:

I'm thinking a rhodie or author might do the trick. I don't know if I understand the difference between a bulldog and a rhodie - are they pretty much the same? An author has caught my eye a few times - what is a good shape number for an author?
