I just got some Carter Hall to try. It was inexpensive, and smoked well right out of the pouch. No fussy preparation. Seems like a decent burley to me. Not as fancy as the burley flakes I like, but if I don’t have two hours to dry out a flake, Carter Hall seems like a great thing to have around.

Welcome back! Ever try PC Midtown series Chatham Manor? It's a CH match but said to have less chemical taste and be maybe higher quality tobacco, all for a lower price. And you can sample a baggie for about six bucks before you buy a tub.
