I do to and I nailed it on the stain and sanding to where it goes almost perfect with the bamboo. The shading is right. Still learning what it takes to make it all go together. The glue is drying and still needs a final buff with carnuba for the stem and bit.

@ clickklick, are you talking about the dull flat looking area? Just took a quick pic on the cell phone before buffing. Looks a lot better waxed and buffed. I will get some more pics up but am working on Scrooges EF. Its going pretty good and looking like it will be done in a few days to a week. The bowl is in the finishing stages!!! finally.

Nice deft sleek design, but it is the darker stain on the bowl and bamboo that sets this pipe apart. A really nice touch. If I'd made it, I'd keep it!

There is a little stain on the bamboo but it was dark already. The briar is actually a chemical "stain", tannins followed by steel wool dissolved in vinegar. I was a little more conservative in my sanding and it turned out exactly how I wanted it. Really liking it.

clickklick, I thought the lump(s) was a ridge that runs all around the stem as an ornament, then flattens out for a standard saddle stem and bit. Am I looking at it wrong?

I have the ridge across the top n bottom to replicate the nodes height and width. The sides though do not flare out. I need to add some more pics. I suck at taking good pics even with a nice DSLR. Photography is not as easy as I thought it would be lol.....
