The sweet Virginias are citrusy, fairly grassy and hay-like with a light earth note, and dominates the blend. The perique is a minor component, offering just a hint of spice to go along with a fig and raisin taste. There’s a fruitiness that comes from a very mild topping from which I sense a little apricot. The tobacco is fairly dry and you may wish to hydrate it a mite, depending on your personal preference. Low on nicotine. Burns well, requires few relights, and the flavor is consistent and a little creamy to the finish. Leaves virtually no moisture in the bowl. It would be hard to recommend it to an initial adventurer into the VaPer world only because the perique content isn’t high enough to give a fair take on what a VaPer can taste like. It’s enjoyable enough to puff on and sweet enough to satisfy your craving for a pleasant all day smoke, but lacks the depth to be more than a mindless work and play smoke when compared to other VaPers on the market. Two and a half stars.

Great review, as usual. Does Lane have any other VaPers? None come to mind. I enjoyed the Lane 125th but found it to be rather pedestrian also. Not in their wheelhouse I suppose, but not a bad attempt.

Great review, as usual!
+1
I purchased an ounce from my B&M and was surprised when they later informed me it was a VaPer. I had not detected the perique being the reason for the earthy note. I did enjoy it however and cellered a pound for future use.

Thank you for this review, JimInks. I didn't enjoy my first bowl of 125 anniversary but I think that might have been expectations. It was much more delicate than I expected. For some reason I was anticipating a robust chewy blend and it isn't that at all. I tried a second bowl last night focusing my expectations based on your flavor descriptions and enjoyed it a lot more.
I found mine to be quite dry but that just helped it burn better.
