I picked up five tins of each and am smoking through one of the Dawns now. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality and smoothness of Dawn. No need to age this one; I don‘t expect it can get any better.

No relights needed in my SmithHouse Apple. Literally one and done with no dry time. A fantastic first smoke of the day. Jeremy Reeves knocked this one out of the park.

4 stars out of 4.

I had these both last night at Pipe Club. They smell great out of the Tin. I had the Dusk first and really really enjoyed it. Rich, lots of flavor, high quality. Dawn I had after a couple other bowls and my tougne was a little torched. It was just a tad less complex but that's most likely due to my tastes being diminished. Can't wait to try them both again for a few back to backs when my tins arrive.

I got my tins in today! Dusk was good. I believe they named this very well. It truly is an evening sunset slow smoke. It pairs perfectly with a southern sweet tea, dark red wine or bourbon of choice. Lemonade, soda/pop or beer would not do this any favors. It’s a great wind the hard day down smoke.

I’m smoking dawn now. This is my favorite of the two. You get a slight zest of fresh Virginia (funny for a 25 year aged) but every puff finale is a deep, rich, you know you’re smoking a real rare treat smoke. Being an aged cellar guy, I’d put this in line with a 7-10 year aged 507c and a 5-7 year Newminster 400 with a 10% nip of Stonehaven delivery. This needs paired with nothing. This is a true, lean back, don't think about anything and let the joy of this rarity calm you.

Very proud of smokingpipes and C&D surprising us with these fine treasures.

Note: I smoked both in virgin new Missouri cobs with filters removed.

It’s not all 25-year aged VA, that’s just a portion of the blend. There’s newer stuff in there too.

Valued add! Good point. That’s definitely that zest I find. Truly I think this one specially may be finding its way into legendary status with another 5 years rest collecting dust in a cabinet.

I laughed that SP was marketing Dawn as a "once in a lifetime" blend... boy, was I wrong. EXCEPTIONAL! I'm not sure I've tasted a Virginia blend this sweet right out of the tin. I will definitely be hunting for more on tinbids.com, as pricey as that may be.

Smoking a tin of Dusk right now. Burns well in the pipe with few relights. Great tobacco flavor. Good for an all day smoke. Would it be too gauche of me to smoke it in the morning?

I am always interested in the different reactions that smokers have to blends. For example, I have read many enthusiastic reviews of Dawn. I have found it be middle of the road meh. Nothing special. Not terrible and certainly, for me, not great. Certainly does not make me right and others wrong. Maybe it will grow on me I time. However, I knew that I loved Sir John Flake from the very first bowl.
