As of now, in celebration of 42 years as a pipe smoker, I am smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in the very first pipe I ever smoked (which was my father’s pipe), a late 1950s smooth with etched grooves straight Willard long stem adjustomatic Canadian with a black vulcanite stem. :D

Thank you, fellas.
Somebody asked me what was I was doing at 1:30 that day, lol. Here's my answer: My buddy Steve Parsons, who started me on pipe smoking, had a small still which was brewing his alcohol, and we were checking it about that time. The reason I remember the day is obvious. The reason I know the exact time is because I'm an infamous clock watcher, and when I lit up for the first time, I looked at my watch as I often do, and in this case, to record the moment so I could bitch Steve out if I hated it, which I obviously didn't. Btw, the tobacco he handed was Borkum Riff Bourbon Whiskey, which was half decent in those days if you puffed slowly.

Congrats Jim, I don't remember the exact day I started pipe smoking, I just remember going into a local Hooks drugstore and buying a Dr. Grabow bent smooth, a pouch of Borkum Riff Whisky (because I liked the cool pirate ship on it and I thought that whisky was cool, I was 16) and then lighting up on a bench outside the drugstore. It was the spring/summer of 1990.

Congrats and thanks for all your input here Jim! You give level headed reviews of so many tobaccos that let us know what they're like. Celebrating with your dad's pipe and the EGR tobacco is something that's right down my alley too.

Well done sir! Thank you for your service to the community.

heh heh....Edward G. Robinson. The blend your reviews brought back from the dead.

What was it? The Cincinnati Kid he was in? With my doppleganger Steve McQueen. Lancey was fantastic.

Congrats Jim!
I know that I started smoking a pipe when I was 17 and I've been smoking a pipe now for 46 years, but just can't bring myself to tell my age. So, I'll let you guys do the math. :|

Papipeguy: if I had some BR, I would have smoked it, but I haven't seen any BR products in my area since CVS quit selling tobacco.

42 years old here too! First smoke was a Dr. Grabow Omega purchased from Rite Aid in May '91. Burned a bowl of Prince Albert Cherry Vanilla.
