Why would you think it's fake? Because of the St. Bruno thread? That was totally an anomaly.
I live in turkey, this and other tobaccos are illegal to sell.Some shop owners fill with different tobaccos in same or different cases and they sell it. Thats why i open the thread.

I think he meant that imported tobacco brands aren't sold there.
It's my understanding that there are state run tobacco "brands".

That’s correct. He is limited to state run tobacco. Imports are illegal and mandate a 3-7 year prison sentence. I would love to see a picture of the tobacco spread out on some paper to see what it looks like. You should smell the cherry and it should be moist to the feel.

Pipes and Licenced Pipe tobaccos are legal in Turkey.
You can carry 250gr pipe tobacco for personal uses If person who travels was coming to Turkey from anyware but that's it if tobacco was higher then 250gr they take it. Turkish goverment has some licenced tobaccos but they soooo expensive. I bought Captain Black for 50₺, licenced tobaccos are starts at 120₺.(pipe tobaccos)
Of course not every tobaccos are illegal.If the tobacco is not licenced by the goverment they are illegal.Almost every tobaccos you can see at the forum are not licenced.( Licence = Brand pays to goverment)

It could just be contraband illegal tobacco, or maybe the place (if legit) paid fees to sell it. Or, maybe it is fake. But, it sounds like you took a big risk buying it. Captain Black is sort of famous for being goopy stick wet tobacco that is hard to dry. But, it is possible it had been setting on the shelf for years and years.
If you like it, smoke it. But, I would hazard to break the law with jail time attached to the risk. I've heard about Turkish prisons.

My guess is that it has been exposed to some heat. Add a little moisture- not much - a sprinkle using a flick or two of your fingers and mix and reseal thoroughly and let it set over night. Capture Black, in my experience, smokes better with a little moisture, rather than being overly dry. With experience, you’ll find what works best for you. Captain Black isn’t a bad choice given your situation, both financially and legally.
I don't think it is fake. It also doesn't sound like tobacco is "illegal". Just that stores can't go and buy tobacco abroad however they want, and every country behaves that way to untaxed, random tobacco. Captain Black is sold on many countries, that pouch is real.

I bought 90% of my 10kg cellared tobacco illegally since ordering tobacco from abroad online is forbidden.
Captain Black seems ok but Amphora which is also available in your country I believe is much better rated. Smoking in general is expensive and life is too short for bad smokes. Maybe a bowl of some good tobacco a week or every other day would be better than smoking garbage every day.

Interesting. I’m glad my past travels went without incident. Accept for Peru. I was escorted by armed soldiers carrying their rifles to a special room where they made me open my luggage and my pipe pouch. I’ll never forget their disappointment in seeing it was only “tobacco”.
