I wouldn't call setting down a half smoked bowl DGT; but rather, something more along the lines of loading a bowl and setting it aside in anticipation of a truly gratifying smoke later on.
I will often pack a bowl of a tobacco that will improve with exposure to air e.g.
Samuel Gawith Grousemoor. I like to pack one just prior to hitting the rack intended for its ritual incineration with a strong cup of Josephus Daniels the following morning. Sometimes I'll pack a bowl before having dinner with every intention of smoking it postprandial.
Simply the knowledge that a carefully packed bowl of fine tobacco awaits (without the effort to pack it) to be enjoyed after an activity, is the true actualization of anticipation. And, when it's time to fire that puppy up, the gratification delayed is gratification enhanced.
