I have not watched the video, but I know the game.
You can get a $400 Benchmade knife for $6 on Ali Express and Temu.
They are counterfeit, but not bad counterfeits. Knife "experts" cannot tell the difference without looking it over extremely well. Even then sometimes they need to do a hardness test to tell for real. Many of these knives use some crappy 5Cr steel, not the Magnacut its supposed to have.
All this to say, no you cannot get a Bugatti for $30,000. But you CAN get a Chinese counterfeit Bugatti for $30,000. It most likely has a cheap 1100cc motorcycle engine, and will be 99% plastic. The top speed will be 30mph.
You can get Harley Davidsons for $2500, Porsches for $15,000, Rolex watches for $20......
But these aren't the counterfeits from decades ago. Some actually fool the experts.
Watch buyers have needed to buy expensive equipment to tell a fake watch now. Some of the fakes actually have real diamonds to fool the diamond testers.
Ive seen videos of NYC jewelers who cannot tell the fake from the real, even after inspecting it thoroughly. The only way sometimes is to take it apart.
The point is, counterfeiters have come a LONG way in the last 5 or so years.
This is really sad. People work so hard to make a great product and establish a name then someone capitalizes or their hard work with knock offs. That's why I will not support knock offs, I don't care how good it is. If I know it's a counterfeit I won't support them. Let the Chinese or whoever is doing the counterfeits make their own product under their own name. If they can make a product that can fool the experts they have enough skill to make it on their own with out ripping off the original manufacturer.

Get rich? Try unbelievably rich.
Some of these youtubers make 20+ million a year. Most is from advertising, youtube doesn't pay much.
There are 20 year old high school dropouts who have $15,000,000 mansions, a dozen cars over $300,000, yachts, planes, $25,000 watches, $30,000 gold chains....
If you really want to hate someone, check out Whistling Diesel.
His name is Cody Detwiler, and he thinks the same way we do. He thinks this is ridiculous, but hes doing anyways.
He thrives on haters.
He bought a $400,000 Ferrari and immediately destroyed it on day one. He does this a lot. Then he ran it through a car shredder and put a piece of the car in every merchandise order for 48 hours....sold out everything in his warehouse.
He bought one of the most original and complete Model Ts at an auction. Hundreds of buyers wanted the car. He paid $400,000 for it. It was like #2 off the production line. Number 1 is at the Ford museum.
Day one he pushed it down a hill, completely destroying it.
He bought a helicopter and flew it in his shop. It destroyed the helicopter, the shop, and a bunch of cars in his shop...including a $150,000 Mercedes G Wagon.
Again, ge knows EXACTLY what he is doing. He's probably the world's biggest troll.
He tells people they should not subscribe to his garbage channel, but he will keep it up until stupid people wise up. He makes about $25,000,000 a year from youtube. :)

Damn...had no clue about the magnitude of this crap...what you're describing is far worse and way beyond anything I would have imagined.

Gotta be a sign of the apocalypse.

Some Chinese companies are actually doing just what you're talking about.
WII knives are a top notch knife company who make their own designs. Their sister company Civivi is making knives of such high quality that knife collectors are collecting them. Ive collected knives for years.
Civivi makes $60 knives that are better than any Benchmade I've ever seen. The steel isn't as "good", but its better than it needs to be for a pocket folding knife. China is making some impressive knife steels for pocket folders. I recently bought a Civivi Mini Praxis with properly heat treated D2 steel for $29.
It is 100% better than the $200 Benchmade Bugout I bought last year. BETTER in every way.
Civivi isn't the only one, there is their sister company Sencut, there is QSP, Kizer, Petrified Fish, CJRB and their parent company Artisian Cutlery, Koncept, Gonzo.....and several more.
Why so many?
Because they make fantastic knives of their own design for pennies on the dollar of more expensive brands.
They cant keep them in stock. People really love these knives.
They have far outsold brands like Benchmade, Spiderco, Beschteck, Boker.....
In fact, those companies are now making sub $100 knives to stay relevant.
A pocket knife does not need to be made from Magnacut, or S39VN.
99% of knife owners cannot even sharpen the modern super steels.
But they never need to, because they never use them. :)

Well, in part because we're mostly not allowed to discuss anything that really matters on here, so now and then we have to just go for some comic relief.
Which personally I find refreshing. People are in my stupid opinion too proud and fascinated by their own opinions on things most of us don't fully understand. This certainly includes me. We've got more chance to say all the things we think and yet it's harder to get heard. Nice to have a refuge from all the noise. Or at least that's my opinion on it. And if nothing else it's better then the first pipe forum I got in trouble on. Apparently it had a strict ban on two things. Off topic discussions and any mention of strength. Got in trouble for mentioning what blends I found paired well with what foods and beverages. Which seemed on point and topic to me. Only good thing about the second rule was seeing people try to warn newbies about high nicotine blends. That was super annoying.
Finally pipes are important. So is tobacco. Without both I'd probably be a violent person. ;)
I'm not familiar with the type of "channels" you're describing...I happened upon a reference to this particular thing from an article on an aggregator site.
Consider your self lucky. There are a lot of channels built not on having something to say or wanting to have fun or express oneself but to follow the worst trends hopeing they're going to the bank before they get to the garbage heap.
The interesting thing about it IMO is, does intentionally letting yourself be ripped off for 30 grand really pay off by making a BS video about it?
A lot of these channels are built on super fabricated notions that are easy to see through. Temu for example is about cheap goods that fall under a certain price point. Also I bet everything in that video including the lady was rented. (I assume there was a lady in there, even though I didn't watch even a full minute of it.)
If so, then I guess that means the world is really screwed for sure.
Always has been. But now it seems like a lot of the worst trends are on full display. Life is pretty messed up, pretty awesome too. Though what's truly messed up about these channels on youtube is how they're really aimed at very young people. And there is something gross about exploiting children even if it's just by keeping their attention on total nonsense that has no redeeming qualities. And instead of actually putting effort into any real accountablity for the company making the most money (youtube) they have a lot of stupid rules that half ass preventing harmful content. Things like banning certain words or phrases with zero thoughts about context or importance. All adding up to making money for pretty base and lame creators.
But I'm guessing he didn't really pay that...probably just created this stupid thing himself.
Yep. It's pretty easy to say whatever. One stupid example I saw was a streamer who did these live things and claimed to be in danger which somehow had to be narrated instead of shown. It's amazing the lies you can get away with when your audience is genuinely clueless.
And what is a "Mister Beast"?
I think official the person that made the most money on that platform. This guy who presents a wholesome good guy image while doing the you won't believe genre of videos with a health dose of faking everything. A guy who claimed in interviews after getting called out for having a channel with mostly children watching and having a pedo on the register also on his payroll. He didn't know about doing back ground checks while running a decently sized company. Playing the I am just a guy who lucked into this, while running an operation that hires teams to figure out things like what things in a thumbnail get the most views. Like to the point of what kind of smile sells best. But still too amateur to do basic due diligence.
O.k. that was a rant. Let me rephrase that, you're not missing anything worthy of your time or mental space. Especially when there are a ton of Time Team episodes on there. Which not only teaches you a bunch about archeology, but also teaches you that some archeologists are down right super attractive ladies with big brains among other assets.

I think if people stay off utube, and in the real world, work for what they get and do it again tomorrow, everyone would be much more content, and have much less unrecoverable angst.
