I received today a bucket list pipe. Ever since fishnbanjo posted pics of a pipe he had from carver Jan Szymon Golowacz I've wanted something similar but unique for me. While the pipe I found is definitely different it still has a certain look about it.

I chose this beautiful smooth elephant foot with bamboo from carver Michele Sottocasa.

About the carver:

La Biota is idea of Michele Sottocasa, young craftsman, born at 1983 in Erba (Como), Italy. He studied at the school of art and like the most of the pipe makers, the passion of the smoking pipe was born inside him, when he saw his grandparents smoking tobacco and he then, admired the scent of the tobacco. At the beginning he made some pipes form himself which was only his hobby, but after a while he starts to make the pipes professionally as soon as he provides his workshop. Today he produces pipes for his passion, exclusively by hand, trying to redesign the classic shape and find new artistic styles. he is using only Italian briar, origin Toscana and Calabrese, essences and high quality materials. His production is about 100 pipes per year under the brand's name of "la Biota".

Keeping it smokey with some well aged SG St James Flake and a glass of 8 year old Calvados.

It just dawned on me who the inspirational fish was. I thought you meant the pipe shape was inspired by a fish.? Great looking pipe!?
